Embrace our Community with WPB Magazine’s Fall Issue

[My Editor's Note, as published in WPB Magazine's Fall 2024 print edition.]

Celebrate our community's strength and spirit with the latest WPB Magazine issue! This edition dives deep into the heart of Palm Beach County, featuring stories of local changemakers, neighborhood initiatives, events, and attractions that bring us all together.

For years, the sunny shores of Palm Beach County have welcomed millions of enthusiastic travelers from around the globe. Thanks to South Florida’s year-round climate with unlimited sunshine and its kaleidoscope of cultures, our communities welcome all to enjoy our delicious food, sunny beaches, art and entertainment hubs, and opportunities to cultivate beauty and connection.

For many, the Palm Beaches has become a “vacation to remember.” After all, you are never far from the beach, sports, shopping, dining, and many family-friendly, fun activities in the sun. For us locals, our communities are what shape us and allow us to savor the sunset on any given day, giving us yet another excuse to celebrate.

Behind the scenes, West Palm Beach is actively preparing for the fall, anticipating a visit to the West Palm Beach Green Market, where Flagler meets the Intracoastal and where you can get a close-up view of Palm Beach Dramaworks on Clematis Street. As one of the top regional theaters in the county, PBD celebrates its 25th anniversary and the joy of being a community changer. Their plays are not just entertainment; they profoundly impact people’s lives, especially the next generation, through play festivals, workshops, and influential educational programs.

As we take on this edition’s theme, community, we realize it’s all part of our journey of becoming the kind of place other cities look up to with admiration and inspiration. While we recognize there are many things we can’t always control, there are many more that we can, like helping kids with school supplies, food, and clothing, not just during the back-to-school season in the summer but throughout the entire year.

Yes, we want to celebrate many good things in life this fall. We want to celebrate the art of eating and gathering around the dinner table. We want to see our community with a sense of wonder—whatever we can do to make it a worthy place to live, work, and play. Let this be the season you never forget, and inspire others to come and join us at the dinner table, wherever that may be.

Here’s to leading in the places we aspire to be, people we aim to connect with, and experiences to enjoy this season!
